  1. Donegal Yarn's Superlative

Posted by Jessie Hunt on 10th Dec 2016

I was asked to make hats for the mariners calling into our local port and you can imagine all the nationalities involved. On researching wools, I happened upon the Connemara website and am so delighted I did. The yarn is perfect for the purpose with colours which suit and enhance the hats, and the material is warm and hard-wearing and lends itself to lanolising to make it waterproof for the conditions which the mariners face. I am delighted with the wool and have sent some to Canada for my cousin to knit up and she's pleased too. Very happy indeed!

  2. Afghans, hats, scarves

I've used this yarn for multiple projects and it works beautifully for any and every crochet stitch I use. I will continue to purchase this gorgeous yarn.

  3. first jumper complete

Posted by geraldine on 29th Aug 2015

I bought this wool on recommendation from a friend in Australia. I was most impressed. It was perfect for my jumper that I will wear with pride when I'm back in Australia. Beautiful colours. Great price. Really helpful advice!

  4. knitting and felting

Posted by Astrid on 4th Dec 2014

I knitted and just knit-felted with the yarn. It worked out very good! I really love all colours.

  5. Great durable wool

Posted by Orelhao on 30th Aug 2014

I'm knitting up a sweater vest with this yarn. Smells great and I love that I was able to purchase yarn from Ireland at such a great price (better than comparable brands in America). Good stitch definition and so happy it came already wound into a ball. :)

  6. handy size

Posted by Unknown on 29th Jul 2014

needed more to finish after using original leftovers
on another jumper, could carry on like this for ages!

  7. Beautiful Irish yarn

Posted by Cheryl in Florida on 17th Jul 2014

I am a rug hooker and use wool yarn instead of wool strips. I have worked with a lot of yarn but I always come back to yours, it is perfect for this! Besides it comes from Ireland!

  8. Beautiful coloured high quality wool

Posted by Anne-Marie van Buuren on 17th Mar 2014

I really love this wool and my blanket wich I made from it looks so beatiful on my bed, i,m proud of it :)

  9. Sheep!

Posted by Unknown on 1st Mar 2014

I have bought them so many times before. I just love them.
Very natural feeling, sheepy smell and lovery colours.
When I find a piece og grass in wool, I imagine sheep in Donegal and It makes me very happy.

  10. Ball vs. Skein - Great if you don't want to spin balls yourself!

Posted by Fredrika on 20th Feb 2014

I love these wools, don't knit with much else nowadays. The ball is great if you don't have the time/energy to spin the balls yourself out of the skein.
